The truth about Vaping... not what the media is telling you!
Vaping store bought nicotine products is not the problem!
Vaping has been around for over 17 years and popular for over 10 of those. That being said we would also like to say that not one person has been killed or hospitalized by vaping nicotine products.
In the last two months there have been over 400 cases of lipid pneumonia and lung failure and the media is telling you this is due to "Vaping". The media is leaving out a few very important facts and are actually putting more lives at risk in the process.
What's really happening?
The real issue we face is that black market THC pods and cartridges have hit the market across the United States that contain Vitamin E Acetate (Oil). Inhaling Vitamin E Oil is a documented cause for lipoid pneumonia and other health risks.
The effect of the media.
We have heard that many vapers are seeing these false stories and going back to cigarettes. Also many smokers that may consider vaping as a safer alternative to smoking are being scared off by the media and fear mongering. As a specialty vape shop our main focus is on harm reduction and this is a step in the wrong direction.
Is my e-liquid safe?
Like we said before these cases seen across the U.S. are linked to Illicit THC products containing Vitamin E Oil. In Canada vaping is highly regulated from restriction of sales to minors all the way down to the production and accountability of our liquids. Nicotine e-liquids do not contain any oils whatsoever. They are produced using propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, natural/artificial flavouring and nicotine. All of these ingredients are water soluble and easily absorbed and flushed out of your body. So the answer is... If you are purchasing e-liquids from a trusted store you can rest easy knowing it is clean.
Public Health England recently posted on Twitter:
"Our advice on e-cigarettes remains unchanged - vaping isn’t completely risk free but is far less harmful than smoking tobacco. There is no situation where it would be better for your health to continue smoking rather than switching completely to vaping" source
