SMOK’s oddly named TFV8 X-Baby Brother is the best version of their most popular sub-ohm tank. At a first look, it may seem almost identical to the larger Big Baby Beast, and that’s not a bad thing—as the Big Baby has been the go-to tank for many vapers over the past year. But the improvements here are undeniable. The TFV8 X-Baby is better than the original Big Baby, and the top airflow has everything to do with that.
The Big Baby beast was the closest thing vapers had to a perfect sub-ohm tank. If only it didn’t leak so much.
This is exactly what the X-Baby addresses. By opting for a top airflow, this tank eliminates 99% of leaking, while maintaining excellent flavour and vapour production.
Because of the TFV8 X-Baby’s new top airflow design, the original Baby and Big Baby coils are not compatible. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. That’s because the X-Baby coils actually deliver slightly better flavour than the original Baby Beast. The X-Baby coils also have a much more accurate recommended wattage—meaning that you won’t see any significant decrease in flavour or coil life at the lower and upper extremes.
